Interlude Coffee by Little Pisces is a weekend-only café popup in Burnaby that draws in coffee fans looking for something a little different. Nestled inside the Little Pisces space, it’s best for weekend mornings when you want to try inventive coffee drinks away from the usual rush.

The atmosphere is casual but thoughtfully arranged, lending a cool, artsy vibe with a noticeable chill from strong air conditioning — a welcome contrast on warmer days. The spot fills up steadily by mid-morning, so arriving earlier on a weekend will make parking and seating easier, especially before the lunchtime crowd arrives.

Interlude’s appeal lies firmly in its creative, seasonal coffee lineup, featuring drinks like the Banana Biscoff Matcha, Black Sesame Latte, and Hojicha Latte. These are made with housemade syrups and ingredients like miso black sesame or banana brûlée, giving each cup a flavor profile that feels both rich and balanced without skimping on quantity. Fans of matcha and hojicha will find these carefully crafted drinks a step beyond standard café fare.

The clientele here seems to be a mix of local coffee enthusiasts and weekend wanderers who appreciate a thoughtfully prepared beverage paired with a chill weekend vibe. Pastries are also on offer and have been well received, making a well-rounded stop for a slow morning that invites lingering over your cup. Some visitors express the desire for a full-time schedule, indicating the weekend-only model feels a bit restrictive to those who’ve found a new favorite.

In summary, if your weekends allow, Interlude Coffee offers a reliable spot to enjoy inventive coffee creations in a relaxed setting with easy access and a welcoming staff. It’s not the place for a quick grab-and-go or weekday caffeine fix but perfect when you want to savor something different and thoughtfully made.

SUPER cute!! This is inside of Little Pisces ONLY on weekends (SAT&SUN). If you’re a coffee lover who enjoys creative, seasonal flavours, Interlude Coffee is the perfect weekend pop-up to check out in Burnaby! They only open on weekends, but their lineup of drinks makes it so worth the trip. I loved their Hojicha + Black Sesame latte, rich, nutty, and beautifully balanced. You can tell they put a lot of care into the texture and presentation. The vibe is cozy and minimalist, with friendly baristas and a community feel. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy your cup. There’s usually a small line, but that’s part of the charm of a pop-up this good. Definitely keep an eye out for their new flavour drops! Interlude Coffee is a must-visit for anyone who loves trying unique drinks in the Burnaby area.

I was surprised to come into interlude with blasting cold air conditioning. Despite the coldness, it would be perfect for a hot summer’s day. The store was semi-busy when we arrived at 10:30am on a Sunday morning. Parking was easy if you come before the lunchtime rush. They also have cute Smikis for sale if you’re looking for any. We ordered the Iced Pandan Coconut Latte and the Hojicha Latte. Iced Pandan Coconut Latte The effort of this carefully crafted drink was diligently made. The four layers of this latte drink was very pretty to look at. It started with oat milk, Ex animo espresso, pandan infused syrup, mixed with coconut cream foam and topped with toasted shreds of coconut. Drinking through the layers, the pandan flavour was very subtle that I wished it tasted stronger. Although I know that pandan is a delicate flavour which can be easily overtaken by more powerful flavours. When I mixed the drink, the coconut cream had a bold kick with the espresso. The two flavours worked really well together. My friend also had an Iced Hojicha Latte which had a pleasant nutty taste and sweetness similarly to the inside of a tang yuan. It was perfectly balanced with the oat milk. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the drinks came out quickly. I’d highly recommend this place if you like handcrafted matcha and coffee lattes.

Finally made it to Interlude at Little Picses this weekend and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Bischoff banana matcha and it was so delicious. They actually fill the cup with drink instead of loading it up with ice like so many other places do, you definitely get your money's worth here. The matcha was rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced with the banana and Bischoff flavour. I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their menu.

I’m sorry but why would a cafe only open 9-2 on weekends?.. not a complaint, genuinely just a question That aside, the banana matcha is amazing. The matcha to milk ratio is great, and the banana purée blends so well with it. I love the caramelized banana garnish on top. They’re one of the few cafes that actually do banana matcha right. most places end up with a weird artificial banana taste.

Each time drinks here are consistently flavourful and don’t overpower the base of the drink. The best place for fun coffees or fun matcha, they take care to ensure interesting components work well with each other. Have tried the black sesame latte and banana matcha would recommend both! Good customer service.

Been going here occasionally since their pop-up days and have been impressed with the quality of their drinks! The Spanish latte (hot or iced) is consistently amazing. I’ve tried a couple of their special offerings (tiramisu and black sesame lattes) which were good but bit too sweet for me. The service is super friendly and chill!
